ARKbase™
ARKbase is the Application Resource Kit™ (ARK) "starter kit". It must be installed before any other ARK package (ARKsdk, ARKaid, ARKfit) supplied by Gennum.
ARK is a set of software building blocks that can help reduce the time it takes to develop hearing instrument fitting software. ARKbase contains all ARK components and several applications constructed using these components. It can be used to evaluate ARK, to learn about Gennum's newest hardware products, and to test components developed using ARKonline. ARKbase also includes software that aids in the calibration and configuration of hearing instruments that contain Gennum digital hybrids at the manufacturing level.
Note: The Interactive Data Sheet and Controller Toolbox applications are included in ARKbase.

Important Installation Notes
- It is recommended that you uninstall any prior releases of ARKbase before installing this version. However, if you install ARKbase 4.2.6 over a version older than ARKbase 3.0.0, you will need to rerun the installer, select 'Modify' installation and add new demo libraries and Filter Designer Plus.
- To upgrade an older version of ARKbase (3.2.0 or earlier) to version 4.2.6, perform the following steps if you are using the DSP Programmer:
1. Unplug the programmer before running the executable.
2. Install ARKbase.
3. Plug in the DSP Programmer once installation is complete.
Note: if the DSP Programmer was plugged in during installation, unplug it and plug it back in. If the PWR light does not turn on, contact Gennum for assistance in locating the device drivers.

- Users who do not have Windows 2000, Visual Basic 6, or any applications that were developed with Visual Basic 6 installed on their computers must download and install the Microsoft Visual Basic 6 SP4 runtime. More information on this package can be found in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
- This software is compatible with 32-bit Windows operating systems.
- Users of Windows 95 must download and install the latest version of DCOM95 from Microsoft Corporation before installing ARKbase. Users of Windows 95 should also ensure that they have mfc42.dll installed in their windows system directory before installing ARKbase.
The file mfc42.dll is required by cbotknob.ocx, an Active-X control distributed with ARKbase. This control is used by the Interactive Data Sheet and will not function without mfc42.dll.
